We are pleased to report that the Abaseen Foundation, which oversees the administration of the Basic Health Unit in Shamshatu, 25 kilometers southeast of Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan’s North-West Frontier Province, has received funds to purchase medical equipment for the health unit. The Abaseen Foundation will receive 3,192,000 rupees on condition that the donor not be named. Half of the donation will be allocated to the Basic Health Unit for the purchase of an ultrasound machine, a haematology analyser, and a micro lab biochemistry analyzer.
The new equipment will greatly enhance the ability of the Basic Health Unit to provide health care to the residents of the Shamshatoo refugee camp and is a kind of recognition that the local administrators have done a good job in developing the Basic Health Unit to its current level.
