The Yes Campaign for Nuclear Weapons Abolition by 2020

c0144799_2082718Tomoko Watanabe is now leading an effort called the “Yes Campaign” to support the Hiroshima-Nagasaki Protocol, intended to advance the abolition of nuclear weapons by 2020.

The campaign is the result of a measure proposed by Mayors for Peace to abolish nuclear weapons by 2020.

Whereas previous campaigns for the abolition of nuclear weapons have been organized around the word “No”, the “Yes Campaign” is intended to change the tone and emphasize the positive: “Yes” to abolition, “Yes” nuclear weapons CAN be abolished by 2020 if we as individuals, city and town authorities, national governments and international organizations, act POSITIVELY together towards that end.

The “Yes Campaign” has published a full-colour booklet about the Protocol, with illustrations by the well-known artist Seitaro Kuroda.

The 60 page booklet has been published on good quality paper and is written in Japanese, but the photos, illustrations and accompanying texts are all translated into English.

If you would like a copy of the YES campaign, or would like to distribute the booklet please contact Tomoko at:
